History & Philosophy
As airline we had to train the flight and cabin crew and the maintenance personnel – therefore we founded our own schools– a Ground Training School for pilots, for Cabin and Ground Ops training and a Technical Training School for the maintenance staff. Starting with apprenticeships for mechanics and avionics we established our own Part147 Maintenance Training Organization for typetraining in 2001. airberlin technical training is part of airberlin technik, the major maintenance provider for the airberlin group. Within the airberlin group we are a technical training school with access to the MRO and aircraft operator. We use this synergy for our customers.
Thinking ahead is more important than ever due to the rapid pace of technological and social change. To meet changing requirements workers will be forced to constantly update their education and skills. Education will no longer be viewed as an activity for young people but as a continuing necessity throughout life. We constantly adjust our training to these challenges and will gladly support you in all technical training matters.

Quality Standards
Premium technical training for maintenance and airline personnel
Decades of technical expertise as MRO and airline enabled us to educate our own technical staff to the highest level, now set as our standard.
The maintenance facilities and the airberlin fleet are accessible for us at all hours. This enables us to offer professional practical training with assessment at the real aircraft.
airberlin technical training is a member of the European Airline Maintenance Training Conference (EAMTC) where we committed ourselves to pedagogical aspects of technical training in the working group ‘Learning methods and structures’. We are focussing on subjects as ‘assessment’ and ‘training need analysis’. EAMTC acts as advisory council to EASA. We were also elected for speaker in our NAA (LBA) Part147 German school circle.
Our instructors are highly experienced and certified. Our assessors hold active B1 or B2 licences on the respective aircraft and have long experience in aircraft Line and Base Maintenance.
airberlin technical training is approved under the approval no. DE.147.0006 in accordance with EU regulation 2042/2003 appendix IV (part-147) in which the requirements for approved maintenance training organizations regarding training and testing certifying staff are outlined. Our certificates are recognized by all full members of the European Aviation Safety Agency.
